Portsmouth Site X-326 Demolition Planning and Modeling, Engineering Support, X326 Demo Equipment Rental, and Dust Suppression
The Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant located in Piketon Ohio performed uranium enrichment for the nation’s Nuclear Weapons Program and Commercial Reactors from 1954 through 2001.
In 1989 the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) established the Environmental Cleanup Program with the Office of Environmental Management (EM) leading the cleanup, decommissioning, environmental remediation, and demolition operations at the facility.
American DND has supported the cleanup efforts with providing Structural Engineering Analysis, Fixative and Surfactant Studies, Development of Work Plans and Pre-Demolition Engineering Surveys, along with 3D graphic presentations for demolition sequencing for public communications and workforce training.
In early 2021 American DND was hired to provide over 60 pieces of specialty heavy demolition equipment and attachments to perform the demolition of the X-326 Production Facility. This equipment also included American DND specialty design and custom built dust suppression equipment including a 3,000 gallon tanker with dust suppression equipment mounted on a rubberized tracked vehicle.
